Zoe-perry
Perry is the daughter Perry is the child of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry, a director. In the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's early TV appearances. Perry was forbidden to start acting by her parents until she reached adulthood, as they feared the stress it would cause. Perry did not like school and wasn't a good actor. Her first acting experience was in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends as she transferred to the university from Boston University. Following her graduation, Perry was able to move in New York to search for TV work, landing a few roles on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent however, her homesickness led her back to California which is where she discovered the theater. In 2013, she was a part of The Other Place on Broadway alongside her mother. In the year 2015, she was with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer-winning Drama Anna Christie. The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. Then in 2017, she appeared as her own recurring part on the ABC drama about politics Scandal which starred her father. Also in 2017, she appeared as a child-like character based on Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) as her mother as a young version. Despite her connection to the family of her character, she got the part via audition.
